Hobart

After checking in to our Hostel we venture out and have a quick look around Hobart. We are only here for 1 night so make a dash to get on a tour that will take us up to Mount Wellington which stands in the background overlooking the city of Hobart. It is approx 1400 metres high so the views should be good. The town itself is very colonial with some very old buildings dating back to the time when convicts were shipped here. There is a Woman Factory where women prisioners were shipped if they were really naughty in other prisons - they were made to do laundry there and over a thousand women and their children were put in a reall small space. Also we see the Cascade Brewery which produces Tasmania's local beer.
