Oct 4th. I get up and have breakfast feeling slightly more relaxed than after my run in with Homeland Security. I actually meet a german girl Judith at the hostel who saw me getting grilled - she had a lot less bother as she was with her mum and dad, anyway we head into Acadia National Park which is 1 mile from Bar Harbor and there is an excellant free bus service to various areas of this park. We head to Jordan's Pond which is beautiful - The trees are turning for Autumn and the weather is fantastic - really hot which is unusual and there is no trace of the fog that blighted the journey to Bar Harbor yesterday. We hike around the 'Pond' and then do a steep climb up the South Bubble to get a great view of the area and see Bubble Rock which is a huge boulder deposited by glacial action and looks out of place. After this we get the bus back in to town and then head out to another area of the park.
