Carrying on the hike from the Pass, a number of lakes are immediately visible. The hike descends down and passes on the shoreline of all of them. There are patches of snow around so I have a stroll and slide (for fun), then I carry on down through the valley and sit down at Alderson Lake where I have my lunch. I passed by a couple who had just seen a Black Bear on the trail but it had gone by the time I got there (Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your opinion). After Alderson Lake, the hike descends below the tree line and the final 4 miles is through a forest path with lots of berry plans and wild raspberries so it is prime Bear real estate. I don't encounter anything larger than a squirrel though and make it back in to town where I naturally have an ice cream and then put my feet up. Really great hike to do
