After the falls, the water that flows over both falls winds its way down the Niagara gorge which features Grade 6 rapids (Basically certain death level) so there is a walk you can do along the shoreline that you get an appreciation of how turbulent things are. Also, the worlds largest whirlpool is here where the water flows into a circular section and theriver actually does a 90 degree turn to the right. I was really disappointed with the whirlpool as I was expecting a real swirling of water like water going down a plug hole but you can see a bit of swirling but it was a waste of a walk to have a look.

Whirpool and Rapids
