Lake Tekapo

Apr 18th. We get up early and head off inland to the little town of Lake Tekapo - situated at the head of the lake of the same name. The drive to get here is about 220km and the snow capped mountains get ever closer as we drive. The lake itself is a brilliant blue (when the sun is out) and the town is tiny - the population is 315. Our hostel has windows looking out on the lake so we sit down and eat our lunch looking at the view.
