A Tribute to Arthur

An avid Train enthusiast, Arthur was responsible for ensuring the Taieri Gorge railway remained open for tourism when the local council proposed shutting it down in the 1980's. He used to stand on a raised bit of ground and take photos of trains as they passed and these pictures have appeared worldwide in calendars, magazines etc. He passed away a few years ago and they renamed the raised bit of ground as a memorial for him.
