South Island here we come

Apr 15th. A nice relaxing day today - We get up late, have some brekky and then sort out a few things for the rest of the stay. We have booked a car for the rest of the time we are in NZ which doesn't work out to be too expensive each. This will be picked up tomorrow from Christchurch where we are flying later today. We also have booked ourselves a trip to see the whales in Kaikoura for tuesday 17th. Hopefully the weather will be OK so the trip doesn't get cancelled (and also we get to see some whales in the water). It could be rought but I have plenty of sea sickness tablets remaining. I have also been planning some stops along the way so we have a semblance of a plan of where we are going. Always handy, we basically are going to do a loop going south from Christchurch down to the very bottom of NZ then loop back up the west coast till we get to Picton which is where you catch the ferry to get to the north island. This should take 1 month. Also a big thank you to Jo, Bruce, Louise, Casey and Fudge the cat for making us feel so welcome and looking after us here in Auckland.
