Welcome to New Zealand

Apr 12th. We get up at 4:20 in the morning and head off to Cairns airport. Then we fly off to Brisbane and then fly from Brisbane to Auckland. We arive at 15:00 local time - NZ is 2 hours ahead of East coast Australia (GMT +11:00). It is easy to spot who is ready for NZ (i.e. long trousers and fleece). I naturally turn up in thongs (flip flops), shorts and T-shirt. Auckland has just experienced a cold snap and it is 10 degrees. Bit nippy then. We are picked up by Martins family and taken back to stay with them for the few days we are in Auckland. We are made very welcome and are made a New Zealand lamb roast dinner with Strawberry cheescake for dessert. This is one thing I have really missed - a proper roast dinner. I reckon the long trousers and fleece that I haven't worn on my trip yet may well get some use!
