Whitehaven Beach

Mar 29th. We get up reasonably early and I slept quite well considering that we were on a boat but it was quite calm and relaxing. We motored on down to where we could get dropped off by dinghy to walk around to Australia's 4th most photographed place - Whitehaven Beach. The beach itself is spectacularly white - the sand is 98% Silica and you won't find a better product to clean your jewellry. The sand itself is like talcolm powder and really fine. I have a paddle in the water which is lovely and warm then we go to the lookout to see the sand bars underwater as the tide goes out. This is the iconic image of the Whitsunday Islands as the sand bars are different every tide.
