Canyonlands NP - Island in the Sky

After checking to my slightly dubious accomodation in Moab I head out to the Northern part of Canyonlands NP - The Island in the Sky. This is cool as you climb up a large rocky section and get stunning views of the surrounding features. There is a particularly interesting 4WD drive trail that I will have to come back to one day. There are some cool small hikes to do as well - The view from Grand View Overpoint and the hike there is fantastic - I could see right down to the southern end of the park where I was earlier. Also the Green river runs through one of the canyons with yet more views. The Mesa Arch was my final spot in the park which is good to whet my appetite for Arches NP tomorrow. No let up with the hot weather though.
