Kings Canyon NP

Jul 15th. I take the rather twisty and windy road up to the northern entrance of the Kings Canyon/Sequoia NP and head into Kings Canyon itself. The drive down to the canyon floor is fantastic offering awesome views of both the Canyon and a side canyon as well. This is worth the price of admission alone. I wind my way all the way along to the Roads End where I begin a hike to the Mist Falls - this is about 9 miles round trip and I wonder if I will see any bears along the way (and if they will be attracted to my cheese sandwiches!).
