Flagstaff

The sleepy town of Flagstaff is where I am based for my trip to the Grand Canyon - About an hour and a half's drive away. The town is quite quaint but with one drawback. The trains - It is on a main train line and has frequent trains running through the centre of town. These trains also always toot their horns as much as possible when passing. At one point in the afternoon it was reminiscent of the Blues Brothers film where they go to the room in a Chicago Motel. The question is 'How often do the trains run past', the answer 'So often that you won't even notice'. (OK maybe a slight exaggeration). The trains do run all night though so ear plugs are the order of the day. A big plus to this place though is an ice cream shop where you can mix your own ice cream/mixture combo - I went for a white chocolate with Oreo's mixed in. Yum.
