Jul 11th. I get an early start and head into Zion to try the Angels Landing hike. This hike is not recommended to people who are scared of heights (i.e. Me!) but I want to give it a shot. The first couple of miles are steep but no problem at all. I make my way up to Scouts landing where it gets interesting. The trail then becomes very narrow and also there are chains linking posts together. I manage to complete the first section of chained path - having a 1200 foot drop next to you isn't good so I just looked at my feet!. The second chained section starts with a 3 foot wide path with the 1200 feet drop off basically next to it on either side, so there was no way I was doing that - I possibly could of gone up, but coming back down would of been too much. The trail was busy as well so having people around me would of made me more nervous. There were some great views anyway to how high I got so it was worth it.
