Welcoming Ceremony

As part of showing up to the resort, we are welcomed by the locals with a ceremony which involves us drinking the traditional Fijian drink Kava. The ceremony involves clapping and introducing ourselves to everyone else and we are welcomed to the 'tribe'. Kava itself tastes a bit like muddy water and leaves you with a numb tounge - it is used as a local anaesthetic - I did check out the report on this as described on the Foreign office site and it does recommend that you don't drink Kava as it can induce liver toxicity. Never mind, Down the hatch it went.

Can induce liver toxicity... Unlike beer of course, which is fine.
