Mount Rainier NP

Jul 30th. I leave Portland and head north back into Washington State and take a detour to spend some time at Mount Rainier National Park. The weather is overcast so I can't see the majestic peak of the mountain at all which doesn't bode well but I carry on anyway. Driving up to the aptly named Paradise section of the mountain offers great views back down the valley and of the glacial river Nisqually. On the way to the top is the Narada Falls which are very nice too. It is just fingers crossed that I can get above the clouds or that the sun burns them away (which is likely as it seems to happen in this part of the US all the time). I do have limited time here though as I have to get to the Olympic peninsula tonight.
