Whale 'Watching'

Aug 5th. Well today certainly made me wail - I booked myself in for a 10am trip and got onboard the zodiac boat to find some whales. The previous day numerous whales were sighted including the resident orca whales. It is pretty foggy so visibility isn't great and we are out for 3 hours and see no whales at all. We do cruise past some Stellar Sea lions but that is it. I think that someone has tipped off a stealth Japanese whaling fleet and they came in during the night and killed them all. I do get another crack at this for free in the afternoon so I head out again. After cruising around we do spot 1 grey whale off the US coast but it isn't really good viewing as it is hardly out of the water so pictures are impossible. After this, the weather turns a bit nasty so we get soaked on the way back due to the bumpy sea and then it is foggy as well. Bit of a waste of a day but I cheer myself up with another ice cream (Vanilla and smarties).
