I start out from the Paradise visitor centre and head up the trail. There is a break in the clouds forming but on the other side of the park - I really want to get a close(ish) shot of Mt Rainier itself as I have seen it from the air and also from Seattle so I press on upwards. The landscape is fantastic - It starts out with trees and then turns into sub alpine meadows with lots of flowers on. Heidi would love to frolick here but would get told off by the rangers for trampling the environment. This trail joins the Skyline trail and keeps heading upwards so I press on and hope for the best.
