Aug 3rd. After not doing too much the night before, I have a full day in Vancouver - the only down side to this is that is the weather. It is forecast for rain and as I head out of the hostel it starts to rain. This really isn't conducive to strolling around exploring but I head to the waterfront and then head to Stanley Park where the Vancouver Aquarium is - it seems like a good bet for when the weather is bad. This is quite a good aquarium and features some Beluga whales and sea otters that are very cute. Also on show are the usual suspects - Nemo etc but it is well worth a visit. The beluga whales did look a bit bored - one of them was blowing bubble rings and then pushing them around the tank before popping them and the male sea otter was being a bit frisky with a female too - a little boy called his parents over because 'The sea otters are fighting'. After this, the weather had cleared up a little so I spent the time wandering around and getting my plans together for the next few days on Vancouver Island.Picture - Vancouver downtown viewed from Stanley Park
