Whistler - Hiking the High Note Trail

This trail is a new one recently opened and is 5 miles long and takes in the views from the back of Whistler Mountain and passes through Alpine meadows with lots of wildflowers in bloom and also various lakes located on the mountain. The hike is not too tricky except where the trail isn't marked too clearly and I think I led a few people astray - I did locate the trail again
thankfully as I didn't want to miss the last gondola down. At the start of the trail there were 3 paragliders doing their thing which looks like a lot of fun - just something that I would never do. The trail continued along various ridges and the views are great throughout. I finish the trail after 3 hours and then head back down to the village for a well deserved ice cream. The one thing to be said about Whistler Village is that all the buildings are in the swiss alpine style - it just lacks the charm and is just a big tourist resort. My hostel is a little out of town but is in a fantastic setting, on a lake. As a bonus, there is a black bear in a tree right by the place so we all check the furry dude out - One of the neighbours isn't too impressed and is throwing rocks at it to scare it away. Alas no pictures were possible.
