Seattle Mariners 8 - Los Angeles Angels 7

Aug 1st. Today is a bit of a day off although a few essential activities have to take place before entering Canada tomorrow. The first of these being paying my speeding ticket so I enjoyed standing in line at the Post Office and then sorting things out. Thankfully the staff there helped a lot - the experience was enhanced by some bloke in the line who seemed to be talking to the huge stamp posters on the wall of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. After that I head off to Safeco field to watch the Mariners take on the LA Angels which turns out to be a fantastic game which went to 3 extra innings and lasted nearly 4 hours. The Mariners were up by 3 in the 9th inning when they brought in their star closer JJ Putz who pitched like a bit of a Putz and gave up 3 runs including a 2 run home run to tie things up. It was really tense in the extra innings with both teams threatening to score before Seattle got a walk off hit in the bottom of the 12th to win the game. Cue celebrations and the Moose mascot going bananas with a flag in the middle.
