Crown Range Road
May 2nd. It is time to leave Queenstown on a grey, dreary and rainy day. We are travelling over the Crown Range Road - This is the highest main road in NZ and should offer spectacular views of the valleys below as we make our way to Wanaka. Shame the cloud is in and we can't see anything much - the road begins with some interesting hairpin corners and precarious drops - Great fun to drive on. Shame there is no point stopping for pictures. We arrive in Wanaka early and check in. It is grey and rainy on this side of the mountains as well.
