Road to Nelson

May 10th. We say goodbye to our place in Westport and drive east with Nelson our final destination. The road twists and turns through the Buller gorge and eventually arrives on the other side of the mountains. It is a bit of a shock to the system arriving in Nelson - The first big city we have been in for quite a while. Having more than a couple of cars on the road is a bit of a shock and also having traffic lights as well. To put things into perspective - Nelson has a population of about 16,000 people. Tiny by UK's standards. It has the feel of quite a nice town and the hostel we are staying in is good as well.
