Road to Napier

May 19th. We evacuate the hostel without further incident and set off for a drive through the country heading through a large gorge and we head towards Napier on the East coast which is further North than here. There are a few stops along the way including a very special one (more on that later). The road winds along through pastures full of sheep and cows but isn't too special to look at. There are a couple of wind farms which are interesting to look at and aren't that much of an eyesore. One of these farms is the largest in the Southern hemisphere.
