The Road to Picton

May 14th. After a pretty ropey Thai meal last night in Nelson, it is time to wind our way to Picton. This is where we will get the ferry to the North Island on the 16th. The road winds its way up into the hills and then down. We take the more scenic Queen Charlotte drive down into Picton rather than using the state highways - The road is windy to say the least and was making me feel slightly nauseous with all the bends. Our hostel in Picton is cool - The main reason we chose it was that we get free Apple Crumble and ice cream every evening. Sweet (Literally).
