Oparara Basin

May 9th. Driving north from Wesport we head into the Operara basin where there are various limestone features and caves. It is a bumpy dirt road for the final 18 km till we get to the car park. Not much fun weaving and trying to dodge the pot holes - never mind - it isn't my car anyway. First up is the Operara Arch which is a huge limestone feature that we walk through temperate rainforest to reach.
Pictures (Left) - The river here is coloured by the Tanin in the water, (Right) - View of the Arch - unfortunately too big to get all of it in.
