After the hole, we go to Pupu springs, these springs are the cleanest in the world and pump out 14,000 litres of water a second. They are slightly disappointing though as there isn't much to see apart from a few birds in the water and some mysterious bubbles appearing on the surface. After that we head north and head to Farewell Spit which is a stretch of rock/sand at the top end of Abel Tasman NP and also head to Waikarakaiki beach (The guide book says there is a seal colony there). Farewell spit is a bit of a let down as you can't get near it unless you go on a guided tour and there didn't appear to be much to see anyway. When we walked to the beach, there wasn't a seal in sight either - It is a fantastic beach with rock formations but the wind was up and we just got sand blown in our faces - I still have some in my ears as I write this!
Pictures (Left) - Trees on the way to the beach - guess which way the wind blows, (Right) - View from the beach.
