The Previous Days Adventure on the Glacier

This happened the day before we are due to spend a full day climbing up the Franz Josef Glacier. The 8:15 tour started off up the ice and then a huge amount of water started flowing off the side of the glacier due to the heavy rain. It actually created an enormous river at the bottom of the glacier meaning that no more groups could get on to the glacier and the existing group had to be lifted off the ice by a helicopter.
