The Rain has Arrived

May 23rd. It has rained through the night and as we set out from Wanganui it is absolutely chucking it down. There is a severe weather warning in the region we are heading too due to the amount of rain expected. This is in the Mt Egmont National Park. The things we have planned for today are on hold, we just head to New Plymouth which is our base for tonight. A quiet little town on the West End of the north Island. Hopefully things will improve for tomorrow so we can do some activities - The weather here has cleared up and the sun is out - It is still grey and miserable inland and there is some localised flooding. Driving in the rain did get to the point where the wipers were on full pelt and I still couldn't see clearly. All good fun though.
